The Global eFoil Community Map
eFoil-Spot is where riders around the world share, discover, and explore the best spots for electric hydrofoil riding.
What is eFoil-Spot?
eFoil-Spot is a curated, community-driven database of eFoil riding locations worldwide. Every spot on the map has been submitted by a real rider, verified via email confirmation, and reviewed by our team before publication.
Each listing includes GPS coordinates, water type (sea, lake, river, bay, reservoir), difficulty level (beginner, intermediate, advanced), and a description with local conditions and access tips. Photos from real riding sessions are welcome too.
The goal is simple: make it easy for any eFoil rider — beginner or expert — to find a great spot wherever they are in the world.

Who Built This?
eFoil-Spot is operated by E-SURFER (Lakeberg GmbH, Berlin), Europe's leading specialist for eFoils and electric surfboards.
E-SURFER facts:
- Founded in Berlin in April 2017 by Andreas Lakeberg and Andrea Lakeberg
- Operates the world's first blog and YouTube channel dedicated to electric surfboards and eFoils
- Has personally tested all major eFoil brands: Aerofoils, Lift Foils, Fliteboard, Waydoo, SiFly
- Runs eFoil schools in Germany and Europe — hundreds of students trained since 2017
- Andreas Lakeberg is a board member and founding treasurer of the Global Foil Board Sports Association (GFA — gfafoilworld.com), the international governing body for foil board sports
We built eFoil-Spot because we've ridden in dozens of countries and know how hard it can be to find a good spot. A searchable, moderated, community-powered map is exactly what this sport needs.
What is eFoiling?
An eFoil (electric hydrofoil) is a surfboard powered by a silent underwater electric motor connected to a hydrofoil wing. At speeds from around 15 km/h, the board lifts above the water surface — creating a sensation often described as "flying over water."
Key facts about eFoiling:
- Speed: 15–50 km/h depending on board and rider skill
- Battery life: typically 60–120 minutes per charge
- No waves required — eFoils work on any body of water: lakes, bays, rivers, reservoirs, open ocean
- Beginner-friendly — most riders can stand up within 1–2 sessions
- Leading brands: Lift Foils, Aerofoils, Fliteboard, Waydoo, SiFly

Quality & Moderation
Every spot goes through a two-step process: first, the submitter confirms their email address. Then our team reviews the submission before it appears on the map.
We check that coordinates are plausible, descriptions are helpful, and photos actually show an eFoil-relevant location. Spam, duplicate entries, and inappropriate content are removed. This keeps the map useful for everyone.
